ECU cloning
ECU cloning
& compatibility.
Assess the original unit, compatible replacement and available data before agreeing a practical route forward.

What is ECU cloning?
ECU cloning transfers supported data from an original engine control unit to a compatible replacement. Depending on the system, relevant information may include program, calibration and security-related data. The exact data and process vary by ECU; copying a tuning file alone is not necessarily a complete clone.
Who might it suit?
An owner considering replacement of a failed or suspect ECU, once diagnosis has identified the control unit as a likely cause. A donor should be checked for compatibility before purchase. We do not guarantee that an arbitrary used unit can be made to work.
What determines feasibility?
Manufacturer part numbers, hardware and software versions, ECU family, security architecture and the readability of the original all matter. Some memory areas are protected or not rewritable. A damaged original or incomplete backup can restrict the options.
What could change?
Where supported, a compatible replacement can receive the required original data. Whether further legitimate coding or vehicle-side programming is needed depends on the platform and agreed scope. A cloning assessment does not confirm that the vehicle’s wiring, sensors or other modules are healthy.
Hardware and installation
We provide ECU software services only. ECU removal, installation and vehicle mechanical or electrical repairs must be arranged separately. Confirm which units and data are needed, the sequence and any vehicle-side requirements before sending parts or arranging installation.
Price and information for a quote
Price is on enquiry. Send clear photographs of both ECU labels, full vehicle details, the reason for replacement, symptoms, diagnostic findings and information about any original backups. Do not send passwords or unrelated personal documents through the initial enquiry form.
Before proceeding, discuss the modification with your insurer and check your manufacturer’s warranty terms. Remapping is not universally risk-free or warranty-safe.
